In 2003 the agreement was made between Mr. Stanislaw Boduch, and Mr. Stanislaw Rybak, the mayor of Koszyce. It was agreed at that time that Mr. Boduch would buy from Koszyce Municipality authorities the remaining ruins of the synagogue, he would carry out the renovations, and then transfer the renovated building to the Municipality.
The new owner, however, imposed a condition that the renovated building would become a museum named after him. The Municipality authorities were responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the museum.
