Searching through Virtual Shtetl

While navigating through maps is worthwhile one may want to find information more quickly. To accomplish this task you can take a few different approaches.

Towns menu

In this menu you can find an alphabetically ordered list of all towns stored in our database. Just click on the Towns button, select the first letter of the town you are looking for and then choose from the list of towns.

Small (basic) search bar

A small search bar is visible on every page. Just enter a keyword and click on the small magnifying glass. A list of results will include city names similar to your original entry. On the right side you will find results categorized by media type (text, audio, video and images).

Advanced search

The advanced search bar is located on the left navigation panel. Enter a keyword, then enter a Town name (this field is equipped with an auto-complete feature – only existing Town names may be entered) and select the media type you need. After clicking on the image of a magnifying glass, your search results will be displayed as described above.
