Days of Jewish Culture in Olsztyn

The 4th Days of Jewish Culture start this Thursday. The residents of Olsztyn will have a chance to get familiar with the Jewish history of Olsztyn, take part in culinary workshops and concerts or have a sip of Israeli wine. This year, the Days of Jewish Culture are addressed mainly to teachers. A series of meetings, chaired for instance by Alex Dancyg from Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem, will be organized by The Teacher Training Center in the Warmia and Mazur area. Kornelia Kurowska, the chairman of the Borussia Foundation which organizes the Days of Jewish Culture, believes that teachers do not know much about Jews living in this region. Meetings and lectures are supposed to show different aspects of Jewish life and provide some historical data.

Music is also an important part of the program. On Thursday, the festivity will be opened by one of the most famous Klezmer bands from Cracow, Max Klezmer Band Acoustic Aprobat. The next day, Klezmoret Trio will give a concert in the castle. On Saturday, Aron Blum Trio will play with guests.
