The Museum of Otwock Land, the Social Committee for the Remembrance of the Jews of Otwock and Karczew and the Association for Otwock Friends kindly invite to a meeting with Zofia Maj, the author of the book entitled “Przyszło mi żyć w ciekawych czasach” (“I live in interesting times”). The meeting is taking place on Sunday, September 26, at 4 PM.

Zofia Maj is a daughter of Jewish teachers from Warsaw, Maria and Jakub Grinberg. Due to the fact that her father worked there as a math teacher, she spent her childhood in Otwock. She graduated from the Faculty of Aeronautics at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1957, together with her family, Zofia emigrated to Australia. She found job at the Faculty of Metallurgy at the University of Melbourne as the first woman in the history of the whole faculty.

She still lives in Melbourne. She is visiting Poland to promote her book and take part in the World Convention of Polish Engineers. Not only does Zofia Maj live in interesting times, but she also describes them inspiringly in her autobiography. It is worth to experience it personally.

The meeting is taking place at the Museum of Otwock land at 2 Narutowicza Street.
