“The Week of the Polish Courier” commemorating professor Jan Karski began on Sunday in the Museum of the City of Łódź. At 12 PM in the palace one could watch a 1996 film entitled “Moja Misja” (“My mission”), depicting the person of Jan Karski. After the screening a meeting with the director Michał Fajbusiewicz was organized.

Also, numerous classes and workshops for school youth are taking place from Monday to Thursday in the Poznanski Palace. Their goal is to acquaint people with Jan Karski’s life, activities and connections with Łódź. Additionally, a series of meetings named "Łódź – Lodz – Litzmannstadt", is held to commemorate the history and culture of the Jews residing in Łódź from the beginning of the 19th century to the Second World War. On the following Sunday at 12 PM, a meeting with Jadwiga Lenoch-Bukowska, professor Karski’s cousin living in Łódż, is also organized.

Łódź honours Jan Karski in a proper way. One of the streets takes its name from him (this is the present address of Manufaktura). There is the so-called “Karski’s bench” in the Park of the Survived. Some souvenirs, given by the professor to his hometown, are gathered in one of the parlors in the Poznanski Palace.

“The Week of the Polish Courier” is held in the Poznanski Palace at 15 Ogrodowa Street. It is organized by the Museum of the City of Łódź. Admission for all meetings is free.
