Ciulim-Chulent Festival in Lelow

The 7th Meeting of Cultures in Lelów- the Festival of Ciulim and Chulentu – will take place at the upcoming weekend. It will be great opportunity to taste traditional courses. The househeepers from Lelów have started to grate potatoes for ciulim and Jewish guests are preparing chulent. Something for the spirit is also planned in the schedule. On Saturday the Song and Dance Group "Silesia" will perform and on Sunday Max Klezmer Band will play. There will be also the settlement art contest “Lelów – place of cultural meetings” and the opening of exhibition “Anna Frank – History today”
Lelów, situated in Częstchowski District, was a colourful Polish-Jewish city before the Second Wolrd War. Today, Lelów is visited by the Hassids, who go on a pilgrimages to grave of Tzadik Biedermann. In the countryside, there is a prayer house and a mikvah.
