The Pieces of the Past in Falenica
The date of the display was not chosen by accident. 20th of August 1942 was the day of the liquidation of the Ghetto in Falenica by Nazis. They loaded trains with 6 000 people. Therefore, at 6 p.m., flowers will be placed near the memonument commemorating the liquidation of the ghetto, which is near the station. Later, a short lecture concerning tragic events of 1942 will be given.
Not many traces of Jewish past have been seen in Falenica till now. Fire has damaged many historic villas. The only saved synagogue is owned by the local government and there are some flats in it.
