A concert performed by Alex Jacobowitz will take place in White Stork Synagogue in Wroclaw on 22nd of August at 5 p.m.

Alex Jacobowitz was born and brought up in New York. He was already classically educated pianist when he discovered the power of marimba, an instrument which is traditionally used in African and Latin American music. It was not easy (four sticks do not mean ten fingers), however, anyone who has heard Jacobowitz at least once knows that the technique, which he has worked out, gives amazing results. He may be heard on the promenades of the entire world. He appreciates a very close contact with the audience. His repertoire includes e.g. Klezmer, Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi. He composes also on his own.
