Tomasz Karolak and Julia Kaminska are due to appear in the film "Two" based on stories by Isaac Bachevis Singer. The screenplay, written by Noah Stollman, has just received a grant for film production presenting Lublin. The city authorities have decided to support the Polish-Israeli project giving 350 00 zl from a special found.

The film "Two" is set in the nineteenth-century Lublin. The main characters are young yeshiva students who, searching for happiness, have to face with the restrictive rules and orders. They flee from their shtetl to Lublin, but the yeshiva’s envoy, played by Tomasz Karolak, follows them. One of the important protagonists of the film is also Lublin, which used to be a multicultural city and the center of cultural and scientific activities of Hasidic Jews in 19th century.

Filming is to start next April. Film makers plan 35-day shooting in Lublin and surrounding areas. The actors will speak mainly in Polish, but they will use also some Yiddish words. We do not know yet who is going to play the main roles, but it is certain that the film will be directed by Oded Davidoff.
