Protection of Jewish heritage - the seminar in Sejny

 A two day seminar, which is a part of the project "Polish-Belarusian youth culture summer school”, involves the sharing of experiences relating to the protection of Jewish heritage. This project, to be held in Sejny from the 29th to 31st of July, is implemented by the Jewish Historical Institute in Poland and co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation (Program "Region in Transition" – RITA, implemented by the Foundation "Education for Democracy".) Partner organizations are: "Holocaust" Foundation from Minsk (Belarus) and “Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre” Centre from Lublin.

Seminar presentations will focus on: preservation of Jewish heritage in Poland, the use of multimedia techniques in studies concerning history and culture of Polish Jews, the popularization of Jewish subjects through the portal "Virtual Shtetl" and local animation actions. Lectures will be given by: Albert Stankowski, Coordinator of "Virtual Shtetl" Multimedia Program, Grzegorz Kołacz, Specialist of the Multimedia Program 'Virtual Shtetl" and Emil Majuk, cultural animator from "Grodzka Gate – NN Teatre” Centre. The seminar will be attended by nine representatives of Belarusian cultural and educational institutions.
