The Virtual Shtetl portal was presented in Generaciones de la Shoa (Paso 422, 2º) in Buenos Aires on the 12th of July at 20.00. Paulina Adamska, who is a member of the team who created the portal, delivered a lecture. Generaciones de la Shoa is an organization of people who survived the Holocaust and their descendants. The aim of the organization is to teach about the Holocaust. A number of Argentineans, who have Polish roots, took part in the meeting with Paulina Adamska. After the presentation, people asked about Jewish life in contemporary Poland, as well as the increasing popularity of Jewish studies and Jewish topics among non-Jews. Anti-Semitism and Polish-Jewish relations during and after the Second World War were also discussed. Another successful presentation was organized on 11th of May in Museo Roca as part of a series of lectures about Polish history. At this meeting, old documents which individuals brought along were deciphered. Moreover, Argentinean archives include many documents concerning Polish Jews. The interest in the project "Virtual Shtetl" encourages us that soon the resources of the portal and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews will be enlarged to include materials which were previously known only in Argentina.
