Pictures of Resistance: The Wartime Photographs of Jewish Partisan Faye Schulman

Last Saturday, Chęciny organised the 7th edition of Sightseeing by Night. As in previous editions, the organisers prepared a special route, abounding in attractions, including the oldest and most significant sites in the city. The synagogue opened its doors to visitors who had an opportunity to see the ‘Pictures of Resistance’ exhibition. The display shows photographs by Faye Shulman, who fought as a partisan serving in eastern Poland (now Belarus) for two and a half years during the Second World War. Shulman currently lives in Canada. The photographs come from the collections of the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation in San Francisco.

The exhibition will be on display at Niemczówka, Chęciny, from 12 August to 12 September 2013.
