Ritual slaughter on the brink of religious, ethical and legal norms – a debate

Next Monday, February 4th, at 3:30 pm the second part of the debate entitled "Ubój rytualny – na styku norm religijnych, moralnych i prawnych" will take place. The upcoming discussion will touch on biological conditions of animal slaughter according to religious norms versus ethical norms and current legal standards. The debate aims to engage academic circles and the Prawnicy na Rzecz Zwierząt Association in a discourse about religious freedom in the context of animal rights.


The discussion will be attended by the following speakers:

Prof. Wojciech Pisula, PAN Institute of Psychology, Collegium Humanitatis;

Dr. Paweł Łuków, Ethic Studies at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw

Veterinarian Anna Hoffman, General Veterinary Inspectorate;

Dorota Wiland, the initiator of the campaign against ritual slaughter, IUS ANIMALIA Foundation President

The meeting will be moderated by Agnieszka Gruszczyńska, Department of Law and Social Sciences of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS).
