Youth workshops on the Holocaust in Zamość region

The ‘Synagoga Centre’ at the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage (FODŻ) together with the Bełżec Memorial Museum have the pleasure of inviting you to take part in a workshop entitled "Zagłada Żydów na Zamojszczyźnie w relacji świadków" (Eng. The Holocaust in the Zamość region in witnesses’ accounts). The classes will take place in the Centre, 14 Pereca Street in Zamość. The workshops, which are addressed to middle school children, are part of the ceremonies marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

In 2005, the annual International Holocaust Remembrance Day was set for January 27th. The aim behind the workshops is to commemorate the memory of Holocaust victims and familiarize young attendees with the history of the Holocaust in Zamość and the surrounding area. Through the classes and working with records, pictures and witnesses’ accounts, children will have an opportunity to learn history and experience its personal, human dimension.

The workshops will take place on January 29th at the following times 9:00 – 10:00, 10:30 – 11:30, 12:00 – 13:00, 13:30 – 14:30.

The classes will be run by Ewa Koper, from the Bełżec Memorial Museum.

In order to participate, call 84 639 00 54 or email not later than January 25th 2013. Each group will comprise 25-30 attendees.
