The march in memory of KL Auschwitz prisoners

From January 18th-20th, the second edition of the march commemorating all KL Auchwtiz prisoners will take place. Totally exhausted and in freezing cold, these prisoners were herded towards wagons in Wodzisław Śląski and other places, to be shipped into the Third Reich. The march will be lead once again by Jan Stolarz from Radlin, who is not afraid of frost, strong wind, rain or snow.

The participants of this extraordinary initiative will include Tadeusz Wilk from Jastrzębie, who will take part in this march for the second time. The route bound for Oświęcim of ca 65 kilometers will start in Wodzisław Śląski. The participants will stay overnight at Studzionka (Jan 18) and in Jastrzębie (Jan 19). The march will commemorate former KL Auschwitz-Birkenau prisoners who went the same way in an exhaustive pace sixty-eight years ago.

The route will pass by the following towns:

  • Brzeszcze
  • Jawiszowice
  • Miedźna
  • Ćwiklice
  • Pszczyna
  • Poręba
  • Brzeźce
