Restoring the grave of the Kielce Pogrom victims

The inmates from the Custody Suite will help to restore the Tomb of the Kielce Pogrom Victims as a part of the "Tikkun – mending" program (an initiative of Polish and Israeli penitentiary staff). Established recently, the Public Committee for the Restoration of the Tomb of Kielce Pogrom Victims has already selected a project of the new monument, designed by Marek Cecuła. The works, initiated by Jan Karski Association in Kielce and Kielce Jewish Association in Israel, will be financed entirely by the israeli Kielce Landsmanshaft and private donors. As for the works in the vicinity of the Tomb, most of their costs will be covered by the city's authorities. The restoration of the Tomb will be supervised by a committee composed of: Chief Rabbi of Poland, president of Kielce, president of Jan Karski Association and president of Kielce Jewish Association in Israel.
