Marek Edelman and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

To mark the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Marek Edelman Dialogue Center and the Museum of the City of Lodz have the pleasure of inviting you to a series of events commemorating the last commander of the uprising, Marek Edelman.


On April 18th, at 6 pm, in the Mirror Room of the Museum in Lodz, a meeting with Violetta Ozminkowski and Magdalena Olczak, the authors of the recently published Edelman’s biography ‘Pan doctor i Bóg’, will take place. Free entrance.

On April 15th, at noon, the Museum in Lodz will show a documentary movie called ‘Kronika powstania w getcie warszawskim wg Marka Edelmana’ (Chronicle of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising According to Marek Edelman), directed by Jolanta Dylewska in 1993. Martyna Rusiniak-Karwat, from the Mordechai Anielewicz Center for the Study and Teaching of the History and Culture of Jews in Poland, will briefly comment on the film.

On April 16-19, the Museum of the City of Lodz will stage classes in the museum, based on excerpts of Jolanta Dylewska’s documentary movie.
