It is the first time for the faces of Mikołaj Grynberg’s heroes, which have been photographed by him and stored in albums, to have their say. They talk about the Jewish fate which has been intertwined with Polishness and confined in their shared history. Grynberg has rescued many accounts and testimonies. People, who are eighty or one hundred years old, talk about their lives, death, endurance and the world they remember. They discuss another world, the new one, in which they do not always feel at home.

For twenty years now, Mikołaj Grynbert, a psychologist, has been presenting human fates entangled in the larger historical context through photographs and texts.
