‘In Darkness’ is a Polish-German-Canadian co-production telling the story of a Polish man named Leopold Socha, whom the World War transformed into a hero from his life of being a minor thief. Socha resolves to hide a group of Jews from the Lviv Ghetto in sewage canals. Putting his life and the life of his loved ones at risk, he saves from certain death a group of ten-odd men, women and children. Thanks to his help, these people spend almost fourteen months in underground hiding. The cast is composed of Robert Więckiewicz, Agnieszka Grochowska, Kinga Preis, Julia Kijowska, Marcin Bosak and the German actor Benno Fürmann.

The 84th Oscar ceremony will take place at the Kodak Thater in LA on February 26th
