A meeting with Anda Rottenberg at the Center for Yiddish Culture

The Center for Yiddish Culture (CKJ) of the Shalom Foundation has the pleasure of inviting you to a meeting with Anda Rottenberg, which will take place this Wednesday. The interview will deal with the exhibition called "Side by Side. Poland – Germany. A 1000 years of Art and History”, which has been mounted at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin to mark the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Since September 2011, nineteen exhibition rooms, which occupy the entire ground floor of the museum’s edifice, showed seven hundred historical and contemporary exhibits, including two hundred and fifty paintings, thirty sculptures, sixty old prints, eighty manuscripts and sixty graphics. The objects were hired from many Polish, German and international museums and private collections. The project has been realized in co-operation with the Royal Castle in Warsaw and Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin.

During the meeting, Anda Rotteberg will talk about the exhibition and will touch on the problems which she encountered when mounting the event. She will also answer the questions of the attendees.

Anda Rottenberg – a Polish art historian, critic and the curator of many exhibitions, from 1993-2000, she held the post of the Director of the Zachęta Art Gallery in Warsaw. Since 1998, she has been the President of the ‘Instytut Promocji Sztuki’ Foundation.
