Recently discovered matzevot in a landfill site

Towards the end of December 2011, one of the Krajenki residents discovered Jewish tombstones in the local rubbish dump. The man reported the discovery to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, sending photographs. One picture showed a matzevah of a man named Margoński. The pictures have been published on the Virtual Shtetl portal. Virtual Shtetl editors have approached the Krajenka Town and Municipality Office and the Cemetery Rabbinical Commission for help. Local authorities have determined to secure the abandoned tombstones and transport them to the Jewish cemetery nearby.
