Joseph Malovany’s performance will highlight the celebration of the Day of Judaism in Rzeszow

Joseph Malovany, the most famous cantor of the New York synagogue on the 5th Avenue, will perform on January 17th in the Podkarpacka Philharmonic to mark the Day of Judaism which is celebrated in the Catholic Church in Poland.

Joseph Malovany was born in Israel. His father came from Poland while his mother was a Hungarian Jewish woman. He took up music studies at the Tel Aviv Music Academy, where he learned to play the piano, compose, sing and direct the orchestra and the choir. Today, he enjoys worldwide recognition and is considered to be one of the most talented cantors of the present day. Thanks to his pure remarkable tenor, he is often called the Pavarotti of Judaism .Since 1973, he has continuously held the position of a cantor at the New York synagogue on the 5th Avenue. Joseph Malovany has received the highest artistic awards from the Music Academy in Tel Aviv and from the British Royal Academy.

During his worldwide concert tours, the artist, with his all-around education, includes both religious and lay songs in his repertoire. Nevertheless, he will focus on psalms and Jewish liturgical songs during his concert in Rzeszow.
