The Pardes Association has published a new book entitled ‘Misznajot Szabat’ to mark the upcoming anniversary of the existence of the association. This book comprises the complete translation of twenty-four Mishna chapters from the Shabbat treatise, i.e. the most fundamental source in Judaism with regard to the Sabbath and Sabbath precepts, together with commentaries by Rabbi Pinchas Kehati. A promotional meeting will take place at 6 pm at the Jewish Historical Institute on January 19th.

MISZNAJOT SZABAT with Rabbi Pinchas Kehati’s commentaries comprises the complete translation of twenty-four Mishna chapters from the Talmudic Shabbat treatise, complemented with the widely known and recognized rabbinical commentary and with more than four hundred illustrations, which make the treatise even more comprehensible. This publication is the first Polish edition of this fundamental text about Shabbat and its precept in Judaism, which has been published in a clear, professional manner. Changing the order of the Hebrew letters of the word Mishna, we have the word ‘neshama’, which means a soul in Hebrew. After all, Mishna is the soul of the Oral Torah while the Sabbath is the core of Judaism. This book explains basic Jewish ideas in their most authentic forms.
