W Wadowicach istniały dwie jesziwy. Pierwsza Eic Chaim, należąca do chasydów bobowskich. Była filią jesziwy z Bobowej, najzdolniejsi spośród tamtejszych uczniów przyjeżdżali przeprowadzać egzaminy, a uczyli w niej nauczyciele sprowadzeni z Myślenic. Drugą jesziwę – Keter Tora założył radomski rabin Henoch Szlomo Rabinowicz.
