Polska / małopolskie

Visitors to the Municipal Museum in Wadowice can see a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of the Wadowice region including a menorah, a chanukkiyah and a money-box once belonging to the Chewra Kadisha Brotherhood – the only items which were left of the Wadowice synagogue.

The museum also stores other Jewish souvenirs, among them being a certificate of a Jewish girl student, photographs of sports teams, photographs of Jews – the town’s citizens, of the interwar period synagogue and of a fire and demolition carried out by the Germans.
