Rzeszów is located in the south-eastern Poland, at the borderline of the Pogórze Karpackie and Kotlina Sandomierska, on the Wisłok River. Rzeszów is a city with county rights, but also is the capital of Podkarpackie Province and of Rzeszów diocese. Until 1939, Rzeszów had been part of Lvov Province. Today the city is an important administrative, industrial, and commercial center as well as an academic and cultural centre. There is an international airport there and state universities: the University of Rzeszów and the Ignacy Lukaszewicz Rzeszów Technical University, as well as several private colleges, e.g. University of Information Technology and Management – one of the biggest non-public colleges in Poland[1.1].
