History
Jewish community before 1989 – Polska / pomorskie
The town of Nowy Staw is situated approx. 12 km north of Malbork (German: Marienburg/Nogat). A Jewish community of 100-120 members existed in the town as early as the first half of the 19th century. The Jews constituted at the time eight percent of all the inhabitants of the town. However, in the second half of the 19th century, the community gradually decreased and it was eventually dissolved [1.1].
