Jewish community before 1989 – Polska / łódzkie
As it is stated in The Encyclopedia of Jewish Life Before and During the Holocaust, there were followers of Judaism living in Bielawy by the 18th century. It is known that in 1857 the Jewish community numbered 176 people. In early 1941, the Nazis deported the local Jews to the Warsaw ghetto.
